Dogsway’s worst idea ever!

August 17, 2009 · Posted in Uncategorized

OK kids. This takes some balls to do…. So I am very apprehensive in writing this but here goes (little balls)… Here is the deal. Have you ever wondered what it takes to write an album? Sounds pretty easy right? Write a song and then record it. Big deal…

hahahahahah. Not exactly…. At least not for Dogsway. The first Dogsway album was a culmination of several song ideas over a period of a few years. The second album was also album that took a few years to write. IF we finish our next album within a year then we will be setting a Dogsway record.

Our idea is that we keep the fans and the public involved with our songwriting progress. So, as we get some “cohesive” ideas and as we get these ideas recorded in our makeshift studio, we will make them available to the public. You get to hear the scratch tracks, rough guitar tracks, rough vocal tracks and etc and you get to hear the songs evolve.

The tunes usually start out as a simple idea on an acoustic or clean guitar and then evolve to big epic songs. Its pretty interesting to hear the evolution of one of our songs. Sometimes we will put down a guitar track, a crappy electronic drum track along with some basic vocals and sometimes the initial song ideas will have Nick on VOX. It just depends on who is heading up the songwriting on a particular song. This could be ugly, or it could be kinda cool…

So bear with us, this is a new idea and I promise that we will be VERY apprehensive to make a demo track available to everyone…. You know… Usually the public only gets to hear the final “polished” version of a song that was recorded in a fancy studio. We are about to expose the truth. I feel like the magician that gives away all magician secrets on a prime time Fox special.

Hang tight as we begin to reveal some of our new song ideas…. ;)
